5'4, 130lbs, ticklish stomach after lipo 1 year ago, is it going to go away?

Problem that you are experiencing is very rare but may happen in any area where significant skin undermining (lifting) is needed like in abdominoplasty (face lift). Due to complex reinnervation proces, some patient may have feeling of hypersensitivity, tickling, for a long time after surgery. Desensitization is something that you can learn to do yourselft if you schedule evaluation and training by a physical, hand therapist. Hope this may help.

Since you are now a year from liposuction, you will probably keep this sensation. However, you could try to desensitize your nerves to make it less bothersome. Please discuss this with your surgeon.

Just know that you're not alone when it comes to unusual sensations after a procedure. Everyone's body responds to surgery, or trauma, differently. In fact, your body can't tell the difference between trauma and (cosmetic) surgery). Often times, nerve regeneration (specifically sensory nerves) can give the feeling of burning, zapping, or an uncomfortable feeling. Thank you for your question. Many people experience increase sensitivity after liposuction. This is due to the nerves of the skin regenerating. This process can take up to two years to resolve. If you still experience this after two years, it is most likely permanent at that point. You still have more time to heal so stay positive! Best of luck.

From your description it sounds like some hyperactive nerves. There are various techniques you can use to calm this area down a bit. Some have improvement with using ice intermittently or tactile desensitization. Hopefully over time you will find some relief.

It’s common for people to have changes in sensation after liposuction. People often described as pins and needles or local anesthesia that’s partially worn off.
The changes in sensation typically return to normal at about three months, though the time intervals can vary.
Some people experience ticklish sensations during awake Liposuction, but I’ve not heard of people having changes in sensation long-term after liposuction. Most people should be fully healed and back to normal by 3 to 6 months. There’s not anything anyone can do.
There are always inherit long-term potential skin sensation changes that comes with having surgery. Most people eventually get a custom to this as being the new normal.
