I'm a year post op from lipo. My stomach was never ticklish before. I'm 5'4 and about 130 lbs and have been this weight before and after surgery. When a hand touches my stomach, I get a tingly extremely ticklish feeling that is just so uncomfortable and so ticklish that it makes my stomach just feel weird. I'm curious why this is. Is it gonna go away? Or is there a reason why I'm experiencing this? I've done so much research and it seems like no one else talks about this.

Answer: Sensory Nerves Just know that you're not alone when it comes to unusual sensations after a procedure. Everyone's body responds to surgery, or trauma, differently. In fact, your body can't tell the difference between trauma and (cosmetic) surgery). Often times, nerve regeneration (specifically sensory nerves) can give the feeling of burning, zapping, or an uncomfortable feeling. This feeling, however, typically resolves by 12 months post-surgery, on average. Hope this helps. -Dr. Sean Satey, Beverly Hills, CA.

Answer: Liposuction sensitivity Thank you for your question. Many people experience increase sensitivity after liposuction. This is due to the nerves of the skin regenerating. This process can take up to two years to resolve. If you still experience this after two years, it is most likely permanent at that point. You still have more time to heal so stay positive! Best of luck.
