There is controversy whether Accutane (isotretinoin) is associated with poor wound healing and thickened scars after surgery. My suspicion is that there may not be a negative association. Botox may be considered anytime on Accutane. Fillers may be injected 6 months after cessation of Accutane, or possibly sooner, depending on the experience and opinion of your surgeon. Great question! Dr Joseph
Juvederm and botox can be injected while on Accutane without issues. I suggest seeing an expert and using cannulas to limit complications. Best, Dr. Emer.
There are no guidelines on when to inject Botox or fillers ("cosmetic injectables") as they relate to Accutane(isotretinoin). Most physicians would say there is no problem in getting these injections while on the medication. If you wanted to be extra cautious, I'd say waiting 1 month after your last pill would be reasonable for getting your treatment. Best to speak with a highly trained and experienced physician injector such as a dermatologist about the best & safest treatment options for you.
You can get injectables during the time you are take Accutane and immediately afterwards as well. There is no interaction between Botox and Hyaluronic acid fillers and Accutane. Please consult an expert in facial cosmetic injections for the best results. Best, Dr. Green
Avoid skin resurfacing procedures, IPLs, and Lasers while on accutane. However Botox and fillers are generally safe.
Accutane will make it more difficult to heal after a burn type injury where skin needs to regenerate from the surrounding structures. However Accutane will have no effect on a simple wound healing especially from fillers or Botox. Best of luck! Dr. Boschert
You should be able to safely receive any form of injectable products even while on Accutane. Good luck from New York City
Hi Sasa1984, We usually caution patients that they should only consider Microneedling, Peels and Lasers six months after Accutane, For Botox and Fillers, you should be fine; although some doctors prefer to inject fillers later. All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
