My very first time getting injections it caused my monolid eyes to become extremely hooded. I would like to get botox more as a preventative measure but am terrified to experience the hooded eyes once again.

Answer: Botox and Asian face Although there are no differences in the technique of injecting Botox the evaluation of the Asian face requires a certain skill set and having taught Botox in Asia for a number of years it is imperative to see someone who is experienced in evaluating the Asian face. as far as the hooding is concerned that is a known side effect and is more a result of the injector or rubbing the area/. see a board certified dermatologist who is experienced in the use of Botox and in evaluating Asian faces

Answer: Botox and eyelids There are no differences in Botox injection for different ethnicities. There is the same rate of side effect, the same duration and the same dosing. What you are describing is probably one of the most common side effect of Botox and could be related to the site of injection, dose and excessive dilution. In general, although this side effect is very rare it occurs regardless of one's experience nor whether the injector is a nurse or "celebrity" doctor. The best advice would be for you, if possible, to read as much as you can on the subject including dosing and basics of Botox injections. As in life, the more we know the better decisions we can make. Good luck!
