There are several nonsurgical options to help tighten the neck and I think you would be a good candidate for them. I offer both Ultherapy and ThermiTight in my practice for this purpose. Ultherapy delivers ultrasound energy deep into the connective tissue, where it leads to constriction and increased collagen levels. As collagen is produced, the skin becomes smoother and firmer. ThermiTight uses tiny probes to send radiofrequency energy deep into the dermal structure to produce a similar effect. Microneedling radiofrequency devices can also tighten the neck skin and I offer Intracel at my practice. Thanks for the question, this is one of the most common things we get asked, how to treat mild neck laxity in a young person. My first piece of advice, start slow and try safe treatments prior to considering anything major.

Botox - This can help in some people, its safe, quick and can be effective to reduce the signs of the 'bands' you see. But, it is not effective for everyone.

Neck Tightening with laser/radiofrequency - These are also options. You can do treatments in which you can get some neck tighteness. We treat people with this issue commonly and get great results with laser tightening procedures in younger people.

Surgery - This is always a last resort and I certainly would advise people to try other treatments first. Neck tightening surgery is very effective, but it also is a more agressive treatment with potential complications.

Facetite and Morpheus8 would make a very nice improvement and is done under local in 1 aggressive treatment rather than 3 wimpy ones.

You have the early signs of loosening of the neck skin. I agree with you, it is too soon to go for a necklift, particularly when you can have great results with non-invasive modalities for the small amount of excess skin you have. There are three popular radiofrequency microneedling systems that work well for this -- Genius RF, Profound RF and Morpheus 8. They would all be helpful in tightening your skin, and you also gain the benefits of microneedling for skin texture. I recommend my patients have a series of three treatments spaced one month apart for a great result; they can then choose to continue treatments once or twice annually for maintenance.

I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to discuss FaceTite and Morpheus8 treatments. These treatments can tighten skin up to 40%. This is a great option when you are wanting beautiful results without surgery.

Due to the laxity and collagen you still have being only 38, I would recommend Morpheus as your best option. At your age, there is no need for a neck lift or surgical procedure. Morpheus works great to tighten the skin and help with overall texture and we have gotten amazing results on our patients with it!
