Hi and thank you for your question! It is difficult to tell based on the picture and specially with no baseline/before picture to compare, but some dents/depression might happen after Botox as various muscles are adjusting to the effect but they should all be temporary in nature, just as the effects of Botox is temporary. While not impossible, I doubt that this is related to Botox, given that it's lasting for so long, but you should do a follow up with your injector to have it checked and assessed. Dents such as this can generally be treated with some filler injection. I hope it helps and good luck!
It is unlikely to be from the Botox - unless your provider happened to traumatize the tissue and you had unusual bruising in the area. In some cases, patients will see a perceived 'dent' in a certain area, but it is really an area that is in between two hyperactive muscle zones.
Thank you for sharing your question. Botox by itself should not result in an indentation but muscle atrophy may be the cause so I would contact your injector and have a thorough discussion.
It would most prudent to wait at least 3 days before getting any kind of facial after botox injection to avoid unintended migration of the neurotoxin. Always consult with a board certified medical expert for your Botox needs.
Hi @Easygoing8583. I would recommend an in person evaluation to determine how many units are necessary. Typically, I recommend 64 units for a full correction which includes the forehead, frown lines, and crow's feet. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Thank you for your question. As long as you did not have any adverse reaction to the lip tattoo it should be safe. I hope this helps!
Hi there. It might be worth trying a lip flip first as the results only last roughly 2 months. The product wears off faster here than higher areas of the face (3-4 months) due to the frequency and intensity of movement of the muscles around the mouth which help us to talk and chew. So if you...
Yes, it can. This problem can arise with the activation of your depressor septi nasalis muscles below your nose. When they activate with certain activities like smiling, this can pull the tip of your nose down. This can be treated with botox or surgically with the removal of the muscle.
Botox can help restore symmetry to an otherwise asymmetric face. Although, the issue is often a hyperactive muscle and in your particular case it sounds like the depressor anguli oris muscle. Targeting this muscle with Botox can deactivate the muscle and help give you the look that you want.
