If your main concern is crow's feet - then botox would be the most effective and cost-effective treatment. It would cost between $180-$300 depending on the severity of the wrinkles. It lasts 3-4 months and you can repeat it as often as you like. From my experience - Thermage is not worth the money. It's a completely different treatment and I don't really see the "skin tightening" effects that you might expect given the cost. It's usually for the entire face and/or neck so if your main concern are the crow's feet - then botox would be the better choice.
Botox and Thermage are very different treatments. Depending on your goals, Botox may be the better option. Botox lasts up to four months and may be a more cost-conscious option. Cost often varies depending on where you live.
Botox and Thermage are 2 completely different treatments and work in different ways to achieve their results. The best would be to use them both in combination. If you had to choose just one, then I would choose Botox as the main reason for crow's feet wrinkles is because of repetitive muscle use. Botox will weaken the muscle. Results last 3-4 months. I'm not a big fan of Thermage as I think there are better options out there. Make sure you see an experienced physician for an in-person consultation and evaluation. Best wishes.
Botox can be used to improve wrinkles around the eye. Deeper wrinkles need a combination approach with Botox and lasers, microneedling/prp and fillers. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Crows feet wrinkles are dynamic/movement wrinkles and thus benefit most from a neuromodulator such as Botox much more than it would with Thermage.
Botox and RF skin tightening machines (TempSure, Thermage) work in different ways to achieve results. Botox relaxes the muscle around the eye, while RF technologies heat the tissue to help with collagen and elastin production. I see the best results when I treat patients with both.Botox is the cheaper option, as a patient spends an average of $150 to treat the crows feet. You can expect to spend around $900 to treat just the eye area with RF skin tightening.Botox lasts 3-4 months, while TempSure requires a touch up of one treatment (around $300) every 6-12 months.
The best treatment for crow's feet would be Botox. Crow's feet occurs due to the contraction of the orbicularis oculi muscles when you smile or squint. Botox directly stops the muscles from contracting. Thermage will help thicken the skin but will not keep your muscles from contracting. Botox treatments are low-cost and effective and the way to go for crow's feet. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MDBoard-Certified Plastic Surgeon
Hi. By far the first step to combat crows feet is to use Botox to relax the muscle which is causing the skin to fold and create wrinkles. Botox should be repeated every 3-4 months for best results. It's a quick and (almost) painless treatment that provides great results. In addition to Botox you may want to consider a C02 Laser Resurfacing procedure which will resurface the top layers of the skin revealing fresh undamaged skin. C02 Laser Resurfacing should be performed in the winter months when you are not tan and will not be in sun for many weeks after treatment. Even after a C02 procedure you will always need to continue having Botox treatments as this will prevent aging and damage and hold on to the results of the C02. I hope this information was helpful and best of luck with your treatment!
That is a loaded question. The answer depends on how old you are, condition of your skin and the volume of your face. if the crows feet are caused by the muscle action, then Botox is your best choice. On the other hand if your skin has low collagen and elastin fibers in it than thermage may be of help. Fat grafting for very thin faces works marvelously. Seek help from a plastic surgeon like myself in your area. Good luck from New York City
Hi estiejen,Though some patients swear by Thermage and Ultherapy, Botox is better for diminishing lines and wrinkles, specially on the crow's feet, glabella nd forehead. Votox would last about 3-6 months, sometimes longer. The crow's feet would take about 12-20 units. Cost per unit of Botox is variable. All the best,Justin Harper, M.D.
Sometimes botox can be injected to close to the zygomaticus and affect a full smile. It should last no longer than 4 months and will not cause permanent changes to the muscle or motor memory function. It is possible that during the past 14 months natural aging and/or weight changes can affect ...
Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, it is likely the botox that caused your situation. When the muscle under the eyelid is weakened, this type of "pooch" can occur. In time, it will wear off and you should return to your pre-botox appearance. I hope you...
Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs Selena90. I understand your concern. Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. When injected into the skin Botox will relax the muscles and smoothen out the overlying wrinkles. The most ...
