Crusty patches on nipple after breast lift 20 days post MM. Is this dry skin or something else? (photos)

Question

Hello, I have these crusty patches on my nipples after my surgery. I noticed them at 20dpo. My skin is very dry on my breast and stomach (also had TT) and I am wondering if these crusty patches are dry skin or something else starting. As you can see from pic the patches are a little darker than nipple color. I don’t have discharge and my nipple incision site is absolutely outstanding.

This is a great question since so many things are going on with the healing process.  The pictures do tend to indicate dry skin but the safest thing to do is always check with your surgeon to make sure you are progressing through the stages of healing appropriately.

I would recommend checking back in with your surgeon. It doesn’t appear to be anything terribly concerning, but there can be a lot of changes to the skin surrounding incisions in the early post-operative period. Good luck and congratulations!
