Every surgeon has a different recovery protocol so it is best to talk with your PS about what he/she recommends for you. With that said, I advise my patients not to sit on their buttocks for at least the first week and then they may sit for short periods of time and a pillow under your legs above the knee for 8 weeks. I don't recommend sitting normally without a pillow for 8 weeks. Sitting would put direct pressure on the transferred fat cells, causing them to shrink and lessening the chance for them to survive.
Thank you for your question. Every plastic surgeon has their own protocol when it comes to when they allow their patients to sit/lay down after a Brazilian butt lift procedure. I allow my patients to sit/ lay down immediately after surgery. Please contact your plastic surgeon to see what they recommend.Hope this helps,Dr. German NewallHouston Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
Thanks for your question. Every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures. Postoperatively, no specific position is indicated and we do not have any sitting restrictions. The pressure caused by sitting is not sufficient to affect viability of the fat cells and so the postsurgical position depends basically on comfort and any other operations that have been performed.
Dear Shortsexy50,every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon. I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. I recommend my patients to avoid sitting until 2-3 weeks. At that point you are safe to sit however try to minimize sitting for long periods of times. You may also purchase a BBL pillow or wedge pillows under your thighs to prevent direct pressure on your buttocks. Please speak to your surgeon to discuss your concerns.Regards,
I recommend that my patients minimize sitting, even with a pillow, for the first two weeks. If they must sit, every 30 minutes or an hour, they should get up and stand for a few seconds to take the pressure off. This reduces the chance for fat necrosis. I usually recommend about 6 weeks before sitting without a pillow. After 6 weeks the fat has revascularized, and they will have a very good idea of their final results. Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. I recommend my patient not to sit on their buttocks for at least the first week, also they need to use the boppy pillow and if they sit for certain period of time , they need to walk and stand for a few minutes to release the pressure. Good luck :)
After a BBL there is no need to restrain from sitting down. It is advice for the first couple of weeks when sitting down to try and put your weight on the back of your thighs instead that on your buttocks but again no need to use any special devices for sitting down and no need to restrain form sitting.
