Admittedly, fluffing may or may not mean anything. The buttock tends to drop and round out a bit with time as swelling and hardness decrease. Early in recovery, the swelling can really distort how you are going to look. I have observed that between 4 and 6 weeks the buttocks tend to stabilize in volume. Usually by 3 months, the swelling is minimal and totally resolved by 6 months. Follow your PS's post-operative instructions to achieve optimum results.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Thanks for sharing your photo! It is important to not over analyze your body this early on in the recovery phase. I always tell patients that they won't see "final" results until the 4-6 month mark. Once you reach that point, and if you are still unhappy, go speak to your surgeon about your concerns and to discuss your options.
Thank you for the question and photos. Congratulations on under going BBL procedure. It is normal to wait for 3–6 months prior to seeing your final results. I would recommend to follow up with your board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.
Thank you for the question photographs. It’s not unusual to be unhappy with your early results since there is still swelling from the surgery. The areas where you had fat removed from and where you had the fat injected will change becoming softer and less swollen. It’s very common to be discouraged and depressed about results a week out from surgery. Your early postoperative picture is very encouraging. Hang in there things will get better both emotionally and the result.
Hello Plucky6033,I appreciate your questions! Eleven days is too short of a time to evaluate your Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) final outcome. Maximum results will take up to six months to show. The swelling and pain during the first 2 weeks are significant, and most patients will have difficulties moving around. You will see significant improvement in the way your body feels and looks in the following 2 weeks. I would suggest waiting at least 2 more weeks for the swelling to recede and evaluate the results. If you are still dissatisfied with the outcome, consult with your aesthetic plastic surgeon about your concerns and improvements’ options. He/she has intimate knowledge about the procedure performed and detailed familiarity about your potential complications. Hope this is helpful! Dr. De La Cruz.
Thanks for your question. You're still in the eraly stage of healing. There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient. Best is to give it some time and follow up with your surgeon 3 to 4 months after the surgery.
I would wait at least six weeks to start evaluating the results of your buttock fat transfer.#StayBeautiful #RealDrWorldWide
Dear Plucky6033,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a BBL surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
After a BBL as you heal the butt will not get bigger - you will not get more projection that you have immediately post op, BUT the shape will change. It tends to drop and round out over time. It goes from rock hard to soft and the areas of liposuction shrink giving you a more dramatic change in size between the waist and buttocks. Try to be patient.
Thank you for sharing! Great question. You are still in the very early stages of recovery. Things will continue to adjust and settle for the next 3-6 months. From the photo you've shared you appear to have a much smoother contour in your waist and all over shape after surgery.Be sure to follow all of your board certified plastic surgeons instructions for recovery. It is important to remain wearing your compression garment at all times (except showering) for 6 weeks to ensure proper recovery. Give your body at least 3 months to adjust and recover to see results. If at 3 months you are not satisfied you should see your surgeon for evaluation.Best Wishes!
I am not sure if the utility of US has been tested or not. Even if it worked to help safety, it would add significant time to the OR/anesthesia fees meaning the cost of surgery would go up. It is my experience that many patients choose their surgeon by cost which is why it is still very popular...
Everything you are describing can be normal after a BBL. It usually takes 6-8 weeks before things really look good. You peak for swelling around day #14 post op, so you may even get more swollen than you currently are before it gets better. Professional lymphatic massages really help. You should...
Hi andwelcome to our forum!Congratulationson your recent procedure...The procedure of BBL is an"insult" to the soft tissues, resulting in swelling which willinitially totally obscure the operative result. Thepurpose of a compression garment is to prevent bleeding and to controlswelling...
