I had DJS/genio in July 2022, movements: Upper jaw - 6mm forward and 1mm down Chin - 7mm forward and 2mm up I am unhappy with the results of my genio. I feel like I look hideous. Pictures of myself cause me to cry and I feel overwhelmed because this surgery was extremely difficult for me. I’ve also read that reverse genios can have a lot of issues as well. My major concerns: 1. Face is too long. 2. Chin projects too much/tight/numb/is bulgy 3. Bottom lip is tight/numb. 4. Smile is crooked.

A genioplasty reversal is possible, but if you are looking to avoid that, then I would recommend chin and jawline contouring. This procedure essentially shaves down the unwanted bone to shape a create the aesthetic look you are going for. That being said, there is a limit as too how much can be shaved down. There are lip repositioning procedures that can be done, but I would recommend doing that last, after any revisions you are thinking about doing. You are also a candidate for buccal fat removal and submental lipo. Buccal fat removal will reduce some of the fullness in your cheeks and the jowling along your jawline. Submental lipo will help to reduce the fullness under your chin which will help to add definition to your jawline. It may be beneficial to see some xray imaging of what was done so we could have a better sense of how to best move forward to achieve your aesthetic goals. I'm not completely clear on your surgeries. It sounds like you had a LeFort I on the top jaw, but a BSSO on the bottom and a genioplasty? Aesthetically, a revision genioplasty can be accomplished by another osteotomy or possibly a chin shaving to diminish the prominence. You do not appear too long in the frontal view and you have a deep mentolabial fold. The cervical mental angle can be improved with submental liposuction. Any revision surgery can be accomplished in the office with sedation anesthesia. You do not need to return to the hospital for corrective surgery.
