After gynecomastia surgery we do not subscribe antibiotic routinely,only if there is an infection which is rare.There are no substitution to antibiotics.  .

There is science showing that infection rates are decreased with use of single doses of antibiotics just prior to surgery.Fortunately, gynecomastia surgery has a very low incidence of infections.If taking antibiotics put you at high risk for medical complication, then I'm sure you can find a plastic surgeon who will do the procedure without them.Antibiotics can also be given intravenously and are often done so prior to surgery.Even intravenous antibiotics can cause intestinal upset.Consider an in-person consultation or a second opinion.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.

Fortunately, gynecomastia does not require antibiotics. It's a routine procedure with great results in the hands of surgeons who perform it regularly.  Hope that helps.
