Hi, if you are concerned about the inability to lower the lower lip you should discuss this with the facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon that did the neck liposuction. Local anesthetic can limit the action of the marginal mandibular nerve that allows the lower lip to be pulled downward. This is differentiated from an injury (from liposuction) to that nerve branch by the increased time (days to weeks) that the lower lip remains weak.Hope this helps.
