10 days post op chin liposuction, but there does't seem much of a difference. Opinion? (photos)

Question

It's been 10 days and I don't seem to see much of a difference. The strap was taken off yesterday and the skin feels quite hard but it looks as if there's still a lot of fat. Could it just be swelling and I'm just over worrying or does it actually seem like not much was removed. The photo with the beard is the one after liposuction as I haven't shaved yet and it does feel painful to shave in that area. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Thank you for your question. At 10 days postoperatively, it is too early to view your results as final. You are likely still experiencing a fair amount of postoperative swelling, which is normal at this stage of healing. This swelling can persist for several weeks up to a couple months after this procedure. If you are having any concerns regarding the progress of your healing, I recommend reaching out to your surgeon as he or she is best equipped to advise you regarding your particular case. There would still be some expected swelling present 10 days after liposuction, so this will definitely affect your current appearance.  There is also the possibility that there is a fluid collection under your chin causing the fullness.  An examination of you could determine if there is fluid there or not.  I would discuss your concern with your surgeon and let him or her decide if an examination of you would be helpful.  It can take a few months for swelling, after liposuction under the chin, to resolve.
