The question is more properly addressed to your own surgeon. I certainly would have no objections although you expect to be NPO the morning of the operation if a general anesthetic was anticipated.

My suggestion is to allow the area to heal for at least 12 months. After that time, if the swelling persists then selective and limited suction lipectomy can be done to get symmetry. You are doing everything you are supposed to do. Some patients can have prolonged swelling (edema).
