Thanks for your question! I would imagine that some of that will be removed but not all of it. Afterwards, you could pursue laser treatments or bleaching creams for what is still there. Good luck!

Yes, a surgeon would be able to remove that pigmentation during a breast reduction depending on the approach they use and what pattern that remove excess skin with.I dont think you can guarantee it wont return one day though. I would reccomend an in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss.

With typical breast reduction or lift techniques, it is the skin on the lower poles of the breasts that are excised. You can request this skin be sent out for pathology if you'd like.

The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reduce and reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying pectoralis major muscle resulting in pain relief without excessive reduction. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained.

The hyperpigmented area on your breasts will be impacted by a breast reduction. The hyperpigmented area on the upper abdomen will not. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon to get a clearer picture of what you can expect in terms of results.

The skin on the lower part of your breast will be removed with the reduction, but skin on your abdomen will not be disturbed. Later, you could have that area treated with laser to see if the color could be lightened.

Often, a significant amount of skin in the lower one third of the breast is removed with a breast reduction. It depends on what design breast reduction you undergo . If you have chosen a plastic surgeon, then I suggest you talk to him or her about your concerns. If you haven’t picked a surgeon yet then I suggest you have a few in person consultations at which time you can talk about the procedure, including your concerns about pigmented skin. hopefully with a reduction and removing the skin on skin contact and the skin pigmentation will reverse.
