I have attached some photos of my self and some photos of the face shape that i would like to have (heart). I circled the area that almost looks like a roll/fat behind my face. How do I get rid of this? I basically want to get rid of the fat directly next to my chin so it nice and tight and gives me that heart shape. Would this be jawline lipo or something else?
Answer: Face Shape It is difficult to truly see what you are attempting to describe with the photos alone. This could potentially be pseudoherniation of buccal fat but again, this cannot be certain without a physical exam. I would recommend seeing a board-certified or board-eligible plastic surgeon with experience in aesthetic surgery.

Answer: How to get the desired face shape? Dear sunshinestate004, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Assessing dynamic pictures We typically don’t make facial assessments based on dynamic pictures. In other words we make assessments and pictures without facial expression. When you smile you contract muscles that change the contour of your face. The smile muscles connect to the corners of your lips in an area called the modiolus. This gets pulled back and up and causes the tissues above to bulge like you’re showing in your pictures. Young people who have concerns about your facial appearance almost always have an issue with some type of imbalance with their facial bone structure. A common one is having a mandible that is smaller and lacking in projection compared to the Maxilla. Having that facial skeletal relationship tends to cause premature double chin, lack of jawline definition, and premature jowl formation. Your pictures do not show any abnormality and I don’t think there’s a need for intervention. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
