Redness after 2 month breast lift with implants post op, is this an infection? (photos)

HI, I got an anchor breast lift with 380cc saline implants 2 month ago and both of my breast are still red and throbbing pain sometimes. I never have a fever and took antibiotic for the first week after surgery . How can I detect if this is an infection or just normal recovery from the breast implants? Thanks

The redness can be normal after a breast lift as new blood flow develops in the skin flaps. However it is best to see your surgeon for an exam.

It is common for the lower poles of the breasts to be red after a lift. This is often misinterpreted as an infection by ER doctors. As long as you have no fever, no drainage, no shaking chills and both sides look the same, they chance of infection is very low. BUT you should still go see your plastic surgeon for an in person check.
