I am strongly considering a breast lift with implants. My upper body is larger than my lower (apple shape). I'm concerned my upper body will look larger and my torso will look shorter w/ implants. I don't want large breasts but natural looking, C breasts. I feel I have wide shoulders and I don't want to accentuate them either. I am also concerned that implants will make my clothes hang further from my waist thus making my stomach area look larger.
Answer: Breast lift with implants Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. With that being said, based on your photographs, the best shape and contour could be achieved with an implant and a breast lift. Your nipple sits below the inframammary fold and without a lift in addition to the implant, this will not have a natural shape. A breast lift with an implant can result in a very nice shape if good technique is used. The size, profile, and shape of the implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue quality. This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Breast lift? I agree with those noted below - a lift will help with the appearance of the torso. In conjunction with a 350-450 implant, depending on your tissue characteristics, it would hopefully satisfy your aesthetic goals. I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss all of your options.

Answer: Breast Implants and Lift in Apple Shaped Figure Given your goals and pictures it appears you would do best with a lift and augmentation with high profile implants. Lower profile implants are wider than high profile implants of the same size. Therefore, the lower profile implants may stick out on the side and make your chest look wider. The lift will make your torso look longer, so don't worry about that. And you belly will look small with bigger more youthful breasts. Of course it is difficult to give you recommendations on pictures alone. A consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon will give you a better idea.

Answer: Short waist/broad shouldered implant choices? I am 5'5, 131 lbs. Advice on profile? Size? Thank you for your question. I think the breast lift will correct your concerns about your torso looking shorter. High profile implants may be a better choice because of your concern about your torso looking shorter. Please consult on experience board certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Breast lift with implants Hello and thank you for your excellent question. It is VERY difficult to choose an implant based on a photo and a description. I would suggest something in the 300 - 450 range, high profile silicone implants, but this is really a shot in the dark without an in-person evaluation. Preoperative visualization and surgical simulation with the Crisalix system may help with your decision. Any treatment plan should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation in person with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
