Orthagnathic 7 years ago with sliding genio. Have loved the results. How to correct assemetry and deep Labio fold.
Answer: Deep Mental Crease Thank you for your pictures. In my opinion, this is a tough issue. It may be best to soften this deep fold over time with fat grafting. This will not eliminate the fold but reduce the depth of the fold. Best wishes.

Answer: Chin augmentation An xray would be important to know the status of chin after the sliding genioplasty. It is possible that the soft tissues have scarred down at the step-off resulting in the deep sulcus. If so, an implant could be placed to soften the transition. It is unlikely that the genio segment moved.

Answer: What kind of revision? Thank you for your question. You appear to have a deep labio-mental fold. Having said that though, your nose-upper lip-chin line remains deficient at the chin level. You have not shown any pictures of your occlusion, so it is difficult to say whether the position of your jaw (mandible) is ideal. The deep fold may be the result of an over advancement of the sliding genioplasty segment. You will need a thorough review by your surgeon in order to determine what is truly required.Hope that helps.

Answer: Genioplasty result Ideally, the surgeon would have improved the 'fold' under the lip at the same time; but it can be reduce with implant material (not silicone) on the 'ledge' of the chin osteotomy. As well, the slope of the jawline tends to emphasize this appearance and can be reviewed as well. Talk to the surgeon who did the original plan
