Can a sliding genioplasty be customized to widen the chin and also increase projection at the same time? (photos)

Can a sliding genioplasty be customized to widen the chin as well as increase projection at the same time? I have a narrow pointy chin that is also recessed. In order for it to look good, I would need to change both dimensions. If I just increased projection the chin would look even more pointy. (Pictures included).

Thank you for your X-ray. I agree with Dr. Apply concerning your hyoid position in the X-ray.  There is not a surgical procedure to reposition the hyoid bone.  Your best best would be standard techniques that we have to improve chin and neck contour. Best wishes.

Thank you for your pictures. In my opinion, a sliding genioplasty to correct your chin asymmetry would be reasonable. You need to make sure that your jaw does not have this same asymmetry. I would visit with a board certified oral surgeon or board certified plastic surgeon. Best wishes.

Hello sj594,Thanks for your question.With such mild malocclusion, a BSSO for the chin alone is probably not necessary.  I doubt your surgeon wants to risk such a large operation if the occlusion could be affected in other ways.  A sliding genioplasty can be quite successful in this...
