I am 3 weeks post mini tummy tuck with lipo, NO m/r. Ever since my drain was removed two weeks ago, the drain site has been more puffy than the other side. I thought it would have gone down by now but I’m starting to worry it might be here to stay. Is this likely just inflammation/ swelling from where the drain was that will go away with time or could it be scar tissue that ultimately will remain?

Answer: DrDerby It is very normal at this stage of the process to have swelling everywhere , especially the side that was holding the drain is more common to have some extra swelling. Everything for the moment looks fine. Have a great recovery

Answer: 3 weeks post mini tummy tuck Hello and thank you for your question and photo. From what I can see on your photo, your right side is a little fuller which can be possibly one of several issues. One, it is still early and swelling is not always bilaterally the same. Two, you may have a small seroma which is fluid build up , this is something your PS can palpate and take care of easily in the office. The last possibility but I feel is too early to know due to swelling , is that it may be a "dog ear" in which this can be revised 6 months down the road when we know all swelling is completely subsided. Hope this helps, make an appointment with your PS to discuss your concerns.
