Thank you for your question and photo. This is common question and hernias are a common finding on patient exams. The main differences between a full tummy tuck and mini tummy tuck is muscle repair and the amount of skin removed. Muscle repair is usually only done with a full tummy tuck. Muscle repair is a way of fixing your hernia. Hernia's however have a propensity for returning! I would go to a board certified plastic surgeon to be evaluated, and discuss with them your options for hernia repair in combination with a tummy tuck. Good luck!
The umbilical hernia can be repaired at the time of the tummy tuck in most instances. The tummy tuck will not be covered by insurance, but hernia repair typically is (though the reimbursement is pathetic). You will be responsible for the deductible.
