Dissolvable stitches poking out. Is this normal? (Photo)

Dear  misskaren_2002,every plastic surgeon closes wound using his technique. If you are concerned, I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon. Based on pictures and your description, it sounds like he/she left in on purpose so it can be removed. Daniel Barrett, MD

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  It does appear that your surgeon placed the sutures in this manner on purpose.  As a result I would follow their postoperative instructions for now as I would anticipate them to remove the stitches at one of your follow up appointments.  Hope this helps.

Your surgeon can address these sutures ends at your next visit. There is no cause for concern. It appears you are healing normally from surgery.

I am sure your surgeon knows about these stitches and probably plans to remove them on your next visit. Please discuss any concerns you have with your surgeon.

thank you for your question and the photos. This is normal and its nothing to worry about, i would not advance and try to remove them, just let them dissolve or have your surgeon later on if he wants to remove them. Best of luck

Thank you or your inquiry and photo.  The suture at the end of the incision apparently was purposely left where it can be seen and perhaps will be removed during your follow up with your surgeon.
Nothing to be concerned about as your surgeon closed the incision in this manner.
