Question

I'm a plus size woman 5 feet 8 inches and about 225 to 230 pounds so about a size 16 I do not want a tummy tuck. I really want to lipo/body sculpting I am happy with my Size. I do not want to loose weight I just want to change my shape I have absolutely no waist So I was thinking of lipo on my back/sides/flanks I'm fine with my tummy I just want that hour glass shape Please let me know your professional opinion Thank you so much

At your height an weight and a BMI of approximately 35- you are considered obese. I would not encourage or recommend any surgery without a commitment to improve and achieve a more healthy lifestyle.

I have to disagree with many on here.  Although you have fat to remove and you may get some improvement, it will be minimal with liposuction alone.  Liposuction is not for weight loss and is best used for body contouring.  However, you likely will have loose skin and potentially it will do very little without skin removal or a significant amount of weight loss first.  please seek the advice of an expert.  Best, Dr. Emer

Is best that you discuss with a board-certified plastic surgeon, your expectations as far as contouring. It seems you are a very good candidate for achieving what you have explained. One concern would be the laxity of your skin after removal of quite a bit of fat. You should discuss this with your surgeon prior to any procedure. It may be that you need a skin excision for the best results.

As is well understood liposome auction is not a weight reduction procedure. However patients with a high BMI often times a very pleased with the result. Sometimes this can serve as a psychologic springboard for further weight loss.

Thank you for your question. Liposuction removes fat. It does not tighten muscle or skin. Liposuction of your waist will improve your waist.
