8 months post-op - I have an area on my back that feels like I have a block of wood under my skin. What could this be?

Tt, lipo 8 moths ago. The feeling is back on my skin but in my back from shoulder blades to tail bone it feels like i have a block of wood under my skin. Not itching or burning. But literally a whole area of the most unnerving sensation under my skin. What is this because i cant stand it. Its like my nerves are not connecting right. If i re do lipo will it resolve?

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Sensory regain and nerve regeneration may take some time after liposuction. Supplements and vitamins may help during this process. Use of B12 vitamin, vitamin C and bromelain helps reduce the residual edemas and enhance return of sensation. 
A new liposuction will not help heal faster.

It’s not unusual to have numbness after liposuction. This typically persists for about 2 to 3 months.

It’s unusual to have numbness longer than that.

Excessive Liposuction leaves patients without a natural layer of subcutaneous fat and excessive development of scar tissue.

Without pictures we can’t make much of an assessment.

We can not recommend for or against further liposuction based on the post only,
