Would it help to wear a compression bra for possible symmastia or do I need surgery to fix? (Photo)

Good morning!It does appear that your gap is gone, I'm sorry to confirm. Synmastia probably won't be corrected this far out with a separator bra- you most likely need surgery. I correct this quite a lot, and I use the Original Internal Bra, my strong permanent internal suturing technique which reattaches your tissues to the chest wall, providing separation and synmastia correction. This repair works and it lasts- I have excellent 10-15 year followups.

symmastia is a rare breast condition that occurs when soft web-like breast tissue pulls breast implants towards each other, until the breasts meet uncomfortably at the center of the chest near the sternum (the body’s midline point). Given this abnormal union, symmastia is known by many other names, including breadloafing, kissing breast implants, and the uniboob.Unfortunately, this condition causes the surrounding skin and pectoral muscles to literally lift off the breast bone as the implants are pulled together. This consequently causes pain and discomfort, as well as obvious distortion of the breasts, which can only be disguised with clothing that does not show cleavage.You should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon for proper assessment. Yes in order to fix your symmastia you would require surgery. It is a relatively straight forward surgery and I always use a mesh to help reinforce the repair. Sometimes it is necessary to go down in size with the implant but that is something to determine during an in person evaluation. Then it will be necessary to wear the symmastia bra postoperatively for 6 weeks after surgery.
