Would you be able to clarify between the Natrelle SCF vs SCM vs SCLP in terms of how it affects the final look? Wish pics attached Planning an implant removal/lift/augmentation. Was hoping Allergan’s website would be helpful, however it is very confusing.
Answer: Clarification between Natrelle SCF SCM SCLP —how does each impact the final results? Thank you for your questions. This is a pretty easy distinction to review with you. All of the implant styles you have listed (SCF/SCM/SCLP) are Allergan smooth round implants (Ssmooth) and they are all highly cohesive silicone gel (Ccohesive). The distinction of the last bit of lettering is the profile of the implant, or the projection of the implant; Ffull, Mmoderate, LPlow plus. The important thing to understand about profile that a lot of patients get confused about is that profile does not equal upper pole fullness, profile is how much the implant sticks out and is not how wide/tall the implant is. In fact, for any series of implants of a certain size (let's say 400 cc), the Full profile implant is going to have the most projection, but will be the least wide and the least tall, while the Low Plus profile implant in that same cc size is going to be the opposite, most wide and tall but least projected. In cases like yours it is very important to talk to your surgeon about what you like and dislike about your current implants and use that to plan your next surgery. This takes an in depth consultation with an experience plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Hope this helps!Dallas R. Answer: Breast surgery Rather than get confused about the different types of implants I would recommend you find a surgeon you are comfortable with and go with their recommendation. That’s much more important than trying to choose between implants that only have minor differences. Every surgeon will have their own preference.

Answer: Implant size and type Dear Thankful01, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals. Answer: Choosing breast implants requires in person consultation You need to please include your own starting point photos as this is a substantially more important determinant of how realistic or not are your goal photos. Your own shape and symmetry far eclipses the composition of the implant in the final result.
