I am 5ft and trying to achieve an hourglass shape yet I feel as though my shoulders are to broad for my height. I’m searching all over for a cosmetic surgery to fix that. I feel as though it could possibly more skeletal structure rather then fat. I know there is clavicle shortening but is there any surgery to fix this? Also, I know you can extend the height of your legs but are there any surgeries to do this for your spine/torso cosmetically? I’ve heard of lumbar spine surgery? But I know that isn’t cosmetic, please let me know!
Answer: Torso lengthening Dear Pipermayyyyy, there are no torso/spine lengthening surgeries. If you are considering another surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: I know there is clavicle shortening but is there any surgery to fix this and can you elongate your torso or skeletal structure? According to recent studies, there has not been much functional benefit and shows inconsistent results, considering clavicle shortening risky factor. If your goal is for proper functional improvement, then this is not an ideal option for the results are unsatisfactory. Without much information and medical history, none can give you a clear picture of the entire clavicle shortening procedure. Correct classification and the right treatment are very important for the accurate measurement of clavicle shortening. But there is no method or technique for standardized shortening measurements. Though different methods have been used to measure, nothing seems to be the right option. The methods of measurements are divided into two groups – side differences and fragment overlap. These approaches vary from one another as they are based on different concepts. There have been many kinds of research and methods to study clavicle shortening, but none seem to give a satisfactory result. There is surgery for clavicle shortening, but it is very rare. The surgery is started with a small incision created along the clavicle bone. The periosteum covering the bone is removed, by using a special drill excising the bone portion. After removing the bone, a supportive metal plate is installed connecting the ends and allowing the bone to heal. The incision is closed after the protective tissue is reconnected. The recovery process can take more than 4 months, depending upon the patient. The patient must make sure to consult with the trained, certified, and highly experienced surgeon to proceed with the procedure, as it is considered a risky one. Also, there is no surgery or treatment to elongate the torso or skeletal structure.

Answer: Inherently changing your body shape When I was a kid I had a friend who was short. One time he read that people do most of their growing while sleeping. This guy was so concerned about his lack of heights that he would lay in bed all day thinking that being in a laying down position would allow him to eventually be of normal heights. I called it a waste of a life but they were other things he did that were worthwhile pursuits. You are correct that you’re in a heart body and face for that matter shape and contour is primarily made up by skeletal structure. Significantly changing bone structure really is not an option for most people even though there have been bone lengthening operations I don’t think you actually want one of those. They are complicated highly invasive operations with pretty severe side effects. Excepting who you are and that this was a gift from both your parents and your maker and then making the best out of what you were given as your best choice. this means staying fit but physically and emotionally by eating healthy, exercising, choosing who are you associate with and pursuit of goals that have value. Without pictures we can’t make any type of assessment. Sometimes chubby people who seem top-heavy do well with liposuction of their torso and arms. This however does not change the fundamentals. Stay away from plastic surgeons unless you want to have an operation. Some of us seems to think that everything can be fixed through some type of a procedure. There are instances when surgery is ideal and there are times when it’s far from it. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
