I had my breast implants just over a year ago, 260 cc (from memory). I am happy with them generally, I think they are still settling as they arent that fluffy yet. However, on my left side, I don't like how one breast is still firm and sitting higher. It moves less. The scar is also quite annoying, it gets tight and uncomfortable - mainly just feels like I want to moisturise it, so I do and it alleviates it. But I am concerned. Should I be? What can I do?

Answer: BAM It looks like your left implant is bottoming out a bit. Most people have a left breast that sits higher on the chest wall than the right side. That was probably the case with you before the procedure. Your left nipple is still higher than the right which is consistent with what I described. Your IMF(inframammary fold) is however lower on the left and this is because of where the implant was placed. The bottoming out process may continue to get worse because of gravity and possibly due to pressure from the pectoral is muscle if your implants are sub-pectoral. If this bothers you then talk to your surgeon about the outcome or have a few second opinion consultations. For second opinion consultations bring with you a complete set of before abd after pictures abd a copy of your operative report. You can get these from your current provider by simply asking for them. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
