What is the most effective alternative to chin liposuction?

Question

I have a pocket of fat, a small amount, which sits on the horizontal area under the neck. I want it to look smooth, straight and tight. I have heard of numerous things - rf, freezing the fat (crypto), laser lipo, liposissolve etc. I have tried the method which apparently melts the fat -i found it unsuccessful. Thank you

Thanks for sharing.  Kybella is a new FDA appoved non surgical treatment to remove the submental fat.  It is injections that dissolve fat.  Depending on severity one to three treatments may be needed about 4-6 weeks apart.  I'm not sure if this is what you had done already but if not worth looking into.  Consult with a few providers to see if you are a candidate. There are three methods that can be used for this:1) Submental Liposuction- Using a suctioning device, called a cannula, a small puncture is made underneath your chin and the fat is suctioned out. This is a permanent solution that has immediate results that get better with time as swelling reduces. This can be done under local anesthesia with minimal downtime. 2) Kybella- This is a chemical called Deoxycholic Acid that is injected into your fat.  The chemical destroys the fat cells. Initially there can be quite a bit of swelling that subsides after about a week.  Multiple treatments are usually necessary. Downtime is related to the amount of swelling you have.3) Coolsculpting- Using a newer attachment called the coolmini, the fat under your chin can be cooled to temperatures that result in the destruction of the fat cells.  Usually two treatments are performed 4-6 weeks apart. There is generally no down time and little swelling.

Hi fjj,It is quite difficult to give a recommendation without at least seeing some photos, but generally, ulthera or thermilift may be good options for a small fat deposit under the chin with mild skin laxity. For more severe cases, I usually recommend neck contouring as it gives patients more value in terms of result.
