It would be unusual for a facelift to cause itching a year after the procedure, but an examination of you would be needed to give you better advice. I would recommend seeing the surgeon who performed your facelift to see if there is any connection between the facelift and your itching.
Without pictures, more history, and doing an examination, it's hard to tell if the itching is related to the facelift. I always recommend that patients go back to their original surgeon as a follow up if there are any concerns. Occasionally there may be inflammation of the incision that can be treated with topical medications, lasers, or injections. If it's been less than a year, it may be a normal part of the healing process.
I have seen itching around the scars and it usually subsides within a few months. If you are past fullmaturation (6-12 months) you may need to be examine for other possible causes. Best wishes.
hi there, thanks for your question whilst it's not altogether unusual to have itchiness with any wound it depends mostly on the site and the extent of de-nervation of the overlying skin. Most common reason for this feeling is as the overlying skin starts to reinnervate, if that is the case it will last for a few weeks sometimes to month and then resolve. Good luck
I recommend that you see your surgeon. It is normal to have some itching or other paresthesias for 6 mos or so after a facelift. This normally stops once you have regained all the sensation back in your face. However, I have not seen itching 1 year out from a FL.
Itching in the early healing process is extremely common and not an issue. This late to be complaining is a bit more puzzling. I would see your physician and see if something else is going on.All the best,Talmage Raine MD
Skin thickness is important in facial rejuvenation surgery. However, an experience facial plastic surgeon should be able to perform facelift on all type of skins. Less tension must be applied to a thin skin during facelift surgery. You are a good candidate for a lower face and neck lift, if you...
Thank you for the picture and your questions. It certainly looks like the skin flap is necrotic (meaning the skin has, at least partially, died). This can happen when the tissue blood supply is severely compromised. Reasons that this may occur include patient-related factors (e.g., smoking,...
Physical therapy after facelift should not impact the results of the facelift in anyway. I would be sure to discuss with your plastic surgeon to make sure that there are no other concerns.
You certainly do have early jowl formation and this could be addressed with a face and neck lift procedure. However you may find very nice improvements with less invasive treatments. Combined therapy using facial fillers, laser resurfacing, and skin tightening may work very well for you. D...
If your hematoma keeps recurring, it is either because not all of the blood was originally removed, and the resulting inflammation from the blood keeps causing fluid accumulation, OR there was an injury to the parotid gland and some saliva is leaking into the cheek. You need close follow-up with...
Thank you for your question. It is certainly possible to do both the procedures at the same time. I often remove the implants first to see the degree of sagging so that the type of mid face lift can be determined. All The Best !
