1. What is the best procedure to remove excess fat from a chin? Would love to know the pros and cons of each option. I'm 41 and loose sagging jawline runs on both sides of my parents and all of my siblings. I notice if I hold my tongue up to the roof of my mouth I have less sagging. Not sure if that is helpful to know in terms of best procedure? 2. Can you get a neck lift or other procedure done while breastfeeding? Many thanks for your guidance, 41yr old mama, Sydney
Answer: Chin fat reduction via #Coolsculpting, #Kybella, #liposuction Hi. You should wait on all treatments until you are through breastfeeding (there are no definitive studies of safety). Your in person examination will determine whether you have excess fat under the skin or loose muscles. Fat can be reduced with Coolsculpting, Kybella injections or liposuction. Loose muscles require surgical repair. Nonsurgical options are attractive because there is no incision, no anesthesia requirement, and minor downtime (swelling, bruising, limited temporary discomfort) but results require time to become apparent, and may need to be repeated. Surgery gives you correction of more components (skin, muscle and fat), and results are seen immediately-cons are the incision, anesthesia requirement, and usually a chin strap has to be worn for a few weeks. Talk to your PS after your hormones and other physiology have normalized and you are done breastfeeding. Good luck!

Answer: Neck Lift Thank you for your question. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon because you seem to be an ideal candidate for non-surgical procedures to contour your jawline and create a more youthful appearance to your neck. Best wishes,

Answer: Anterior neck lift Based on these photos it appears that you would be a good candidate for anterior neck lift. Through a small incision underneath the chin surgeon can remove all superficial and deep fat from the anterior neck and tighten platysma muscle. Additionally, combining liposuction and direct fat removal one can improve jowls and jawline. Very likely that you may not need any skin excision in front and behind the ears. In person evaluation and consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in facial rejuvenation is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: Facelift, Necklift and Liposuction, Under Local Anaesthetic Thank you for your question. You need to have stop breastfeeding before you decide to have any cosmetic surgery. To achieve a slender and contour neck and jawline you would need a Facelift, Neck Lift and Liposuction. You would need all three procedures to achieve this result. The facelift I perform is under a local anaesthetic which means a significantly reduced downtime. Most of my patients want a facelift however do not want the downtime associated. The Concept Facelift and Necklift is the procedure I perform, which combines the latest surgical techniques with the use of local anaesthetic to dramatically reduce the risks associated with traditional facelifts, while significantly reducing the bruising and downtime of your recovery, from months to a matter of days. If you have lax facial skin, lost volume and feel that you have jowls and wrinkles on your cheeks and you look tired when you're not then the concept facelift can help improve your appearance. With concept facelift you will look natural and fresh just like the way you feel inside. There are no bandages, drains and hospital stay but with lasting results of traditional facelift techniques it fits with today's age. Typically recovery period is 7-10 days as you do tend to bruise more with your eyes than facelift and necklift. You would need to return for a follow up appointment 7 days later to check your healing progress. This can be combined with lower eyelid surgery which I think will give you a fresher appearance. What are the benefits of a local anaesthetic facelift? Minimally invasive as it is a short scar facelift, although has the same effects as the Traditional Facelift as the SMAS muscle is tightened along with the skin. There is minimal bruising and swelling, especially when compared to traditional faceliftsAs the procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, you can go straight home following the procedureFull recovery in a matter of days rather than monthsSignificantly less risk than Facelifts performed under general anaestheticFresh, youthful and long lasting resultsPlease make sure you find a reputable and qualified plastic surgeon
