I got this surgery because i was uncomfortable all the time, it was a huge decision and a huge investment of money for me. Its been 6 weeks and as you can see from the photos my labia minora are still external especially on the right side. I was assured at my initial consultation that they would be internal and no longer rub on my underwear and cause me so much discomfort. At my 6 week appointment my surgeon said there is not much more to be taken out. But i would like a second opinion.
Answer: Your labia can be reduced in size further It looks like you had a wedge and still have swelling along both sides. However, there is plenty of residual labial tissue protruding beyond the labia majora that can be effectively reduced. Perhaps, your surgeon is only expert in basic wedge techniques and doesn't know how to conduct a linear reduction. The latter would reduce your labia to a much lower profile. Nonetheless, I would recommend waiting until all swelling has resolved to judge the final result.

Answer: Labiaplasty Revisions 6 weeks after a labiaplasty procedure swelling should be coming down but some swelling may still be present. As time progresses, the swelling in the area should continue to come down and as that happens final results will be more visible. Once tissues have completely healed, if the results of a labiaplasty surgery are not as expected, it is possible to have a revision surgery to remove excess labial tissue or clitoral hooding that is left behind after the first surgery. That said, it is important to do research and select a surgeon that understands your desired outcome and can deliver results that you are happy with. Looking at reviews and before/after photos prior to selecting your surgeon is advised so that you can express to your surgeon what you want to accomplish with your surgery and get the results you want in one surgery/recovery.

Answer: Labiaplasty Assessment 6 weeks post-op Hello,There appears to be residual swelling along the labia and potential for further reduction once healing is complete. In a few months time, another assessment can help determine if you would benefit from a second labiaplasty to further shorten the excess tissues.Warm regards,Dr. Pedy Ganchi Village Plastic Surgery

Answer: Residual tissue after labiaplasty Hello, thank you for your question. While you are still early in your recovery process, you do appear to have more labia minora that could be causing you chafing and discomfort. From your photos, it appears to be more of a bulk or height issue than a length issue. I agree with my colleagues that we need to first wait longer for the tissues to completely heal before considering revision. I know this is frustrating and you are disappointed but things do continue to change with time. If, after you reach the 6 month recovery mark, you are still unhappy with the results and your surgeon does not think he/she can remove more, I would seek other opinions from board-certified surgeons who are well versed in labiaplasty or understand the anatomy to do the appropriate revision.I hope this helps. - Dr. Leong

Answer: Unhappy after 6 weeks I would first and foremost wait about 4 months post op until you evaluate the final result. If at that time, you feel there is still excess tissue in the labia minor, I would check with you doctor to see if that is possible. From what I see now, it would be likely that there could be a revision procedure. Most likely a rim type incision. Let all swelling reside and then re-evaluate.
