Hi, I had a septorhinoplasty along with turbinectomy done 4 days ago. My eyes are not bruised at all but they are extremely puffy, swollen and watery. Overnight, one of my eyes also turned red. Is this normal or is this some type of allergic reaction?

Thank you for your question. The tube between your nasal/oral passages and your ears may be blocked by congestion. Your surgeon may ask you to take a decongestant, or take the packing out, or both.

If the nasal bones were broken during the Rhinoplasty, then yes...the bones can be moved at 6 days post-op so be very careful not to exert force upon the nose. This is why a wafered plastic cast is used for 1 week and we have all Rhinoplasty patients sleep on an airline pillow for 1...
