Can I make my rectangular figure an hourglass figure? (Photo)

You are a good candidate for liposuction, where the areas that are bothering you can be sculpted away.

The hourglass figure is based on the waist/hip ratio.
When you accumulate fat in the lower back it adds width to what should be the narrowest point of the waist. 
Liposuction of the flanks addresses this directly and as a side benefit the fat does not come back in that area and on the contrary tends to come back in the hip area, which also enhances the waist/hip ratio. Flank liposuction should be done with the patient on her stomach so you can get maximum detailing of the transition zone between waist and hip.

I'm a little confused.  Are those pictures of you and on the right hand side, you are drawing in red what you would like for your shape to be?  There are definitely procedures that help accentuate an hour-glass figure.  The only way to tell if they are safe and would get you the results that you are after, is to examine you.  Please see a board certified plastic surgeon that does great body contouring work and I'll bet you would be a great candidate.  I'm a little perplexed and worried about what shaving the bone entails?  I hope that no plastic surgeon offered this to you.-JGH

I would suggests that the best technique to get an "hour glass" figure would be to do circumferential liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, and lower back, combined with fat transfer to the hips and buttocks area.  The fat transfer portion would be an option depending on how much fullness you desire in the buttocks.  Many patients today are requesting this combination of procedures more so than in the past.  It definitely produces a very curvy hour glass figure.  By the addition of breast implants it cam be even more enhanced.

There are certain limitations in creating an hour glass shape. This has to due with the underlying bony and muscular architecture.  If you have fat deposits, these can be used to enhance your hips and buttocks. I agree implants would help as well.

Thank you for your question, and pictures.  From your photos, it is difficult to say which procedure would help you obtain more of an hourglass shape.  Ultimately, an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who can do a history and physical would be the most helpful for you.  However, for women desiring a more hourglass shape, common procedures include liposuction of the waist, fat transfer to the hips and buttocks (if so desired), and breast augmentation or mastopexy.  When you meet with your plastic surgeon, their office would be able to more accurately give you a price estimate after it is determined which procedures are right for you.  Good luck!

Hello and thank you for your question. with your clothes on it is difficult to assess you very well, but if you don't have a lot of loose skin I so believe that you would get improvement by performing liposculpting and with the fat obtained possible reinject into your hips lower down.Peter Fisher M.D
