Hello! I had a FUE transplant for 1 month ago, 3500 grafts. Still a little bit of redness in the recepient area (the front of the head) but no scabs, all clean. I was wondering if its ok to use coconut oil? I read about its positive efects, it improves scalp health, fights infections and fungus, supports hair growth. I am thinking about pure natural cold pressed coconut oil without any chemicals, to apply on the scalp for 30 minutes before shampoo. Could this harm the grafts in any way? Thanks

Answer: It is best to follow up with your doctor for post surgical issues. Your doctor can better guide you.
Number of grafts depends on several factors. Typically for Norwood Stage 3 it is around 1500-1800 grafts. It's usually a good idea to be conservative with your hairline- the more conservative you are, the less grafts you'll require and the more donor grafts you'll have available in the future....
All of your transplanted hair should fall out within one month. If your natural hair is falling out, this is consistent with shock loss and it should grow back within 3-6 months. Please consult your doctor.
It should be safe to remove the scabs and crusts gently, but as always it is best to consult your hair restoration doctor and follow his specific post op plan for you.
