Can I wear a minimizer bra after a breast reduction and lift?

I had a breast reduction and lift six months ago. I feel like my breasts are getting bigger again on the sides. I used to wear minimizer bras and loved the way they supported my breasts all over. Can I wear a minimizer bra without hurting the reduction or lift ?

Every doctor has different post op instructions so you should ask your surgeon what would work for you. The dressings vary from patient to patient. Some patients may be placed in a sports bra; others will wear a stabilizing elastic support strap. Your doctor will decide after surgery and in subsequent weeks, which dressing will suit your needs and how long you would need to wear them.

Given that you are 6 months post op, of course. But remember that a minimizer is going to push your tissue out to the side. Which is what's bothering you. I would suggest going to a lingerie store or department store that is known for "fitting" bras to ensure that you are actually wearing the appropriate size bra. Best, Dr. Nazarian

I am glad that you're happy with your restaurant action. And my opinion, you can wear your minimizer bra. It will not or should not harm your reduction. If you still concerned about the sides  of your breasts you may have a surgical revision to reduce this area. Please see your plastic surgeon

By six months you should be fully healed and could possibly wear any bra you desire. If you are having helping issues for instance, then you should check with your surgeon.

Six months after the procedure should be enough for you to wear any kind of bra. I would probably double check with your surgeon, but I can't see why you should not be able to wear a minimizer bra at this point.

Congratulations on having undergone the breast reduction procedure. At this point, it is likely that you will be able to wear any type of bra that is comfortable to you.  I ask my patients to avoid any type of irritation along scars that are still  "maturing". Best wishes.
