Is having surgery less than a week after low grade fever still safe?

It is unclear what is beating treated with the antibiotics here. If you blood work is normal and your temperature is around 99.1, you have no signs of any infection. If you are symptom free such as urinary or respiratory symptoms, then in my opinion no treatment is indicated and it is safe to proceed with surgery. Good luck!

It sounds like whatever you were having is resolving. There may be more of a delay if you had something like a chest cold, but as long as yous surgeon and anesthesiologist deem it safe to undergo the procedure you should be just fine.  

You should proceed with your surgery when you feel well and have shown clinical improvement as per you physician's judgement. Your convalescence will depend upon the cause of your fever. Discuss your concerwith your surgeon. 

What was being treated?  If you have healed from whatever you had( let's say a UTI) then it is probably ok, but really you would have to be seen in person tan properly evaluated. Each patient is different.

Thanks for your question.  I am truly stunned that they cancelled your surgery for a 99.1 temperature!  This is not a fever.  Variations in your body's temperature are totally normal.  Ovulation, menstral cycle all contibute to changes in temperature.  Anything under 100.5, we do not even address.  To treat with an antibiotic without a known site of infection is also questionable.The answer is you are fine.  After surgery you will find that your temperature will go up and down several times a day.  Ask your surgeon what his/her temperature to be concerned with.  Ours is anything above 101.0.  Most commonly, elevated temperatures are from shallow breathing due to postoperative pain and immobility.Best of luck.

Slight variations in body temperature are
not usual and it does not sound as if you have an infection anywhere in your
body. I think it is safe to go forward with your surgery.
