I would like to travel to turkey for a forehead reduction and rhinoplasty but I am interested in going to two different surgeons for each procedure and would rather just make the trip once since I live in the US. Is it safe for both surgeries to be done within a couple days apart?
Answer: Not recommended I would not recommend it. The procedures can be done together with one surgery, but it is not wise to have them done days apart with different surgeons. I would also hope the second surgeon would not agree to perform a surgery while healing from another. The risk of infection and complications are much higher. You will be swollen and bruised from the initial procedure, which would distort your natural features. This would make it more difficult to complete the second procedure, You can end up with worse results because they based their movements off of facial features that were changed due to swelling and fluid retention. It would be a risk for the second surgeon to even take on a case while healing from another surgeon's work. I would find one surgeon who you are comfortable and confident with to perform the procedures at the same time, or wait till one is is fully healed before getting the other. There are many capable surgeons in the US who perform these surgeries. They are both common at our practice. We are happy to schedule an in-person or virtual consult to discuss options further.

Answer: Out of country elective surgery It is very hard to comment on your plan without photos or in person consultation to evaluate what would be appropriate procedure(s) for you. Trying to achieve all of that with two different surgeries in a foreign country looks like playing with too many unknowns. Why would you need two surgeons to do forehead reduction and rhinoplasty? In our practice those two procedures would be planned in a single surgery unless there was reason to separate it. It be in your best interest to do further research and possibly in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon expert in rhinoplasty in you area? Hope this may help. Good luck.

Answer: Not a good idea We do a lot of these procedures (forehead reduction and rhinoplasty) and typically do them at the same setting. Going to two surgeons is not likely the safest or best idea in my opinion. Also, going to Turkey in general may be a mistake. There are some very good doctors there, but, you don't have the same quality across the board and you're taking more of a risk.

Answer: Forehead reduction Hello! Thank you so much for your question! Yes, it is possible, however, not recommended, since general anesthesia has some several risks to your health. In order t go through the second procedure you will need the approval anesthesiologist. Hope it helps!

Answer: Can you get two different surgeries within the time span of a week? In our practice, we would recommend you do two general anesthetic procedures at least a month apart, due to the small risk of having a blood clot in your legs. That would also be accentuated by flying to Turkey. Rhinoplasty is the most difficult operation to perform correctly in the entire field of cosmetic surgery, so you should seek out a US-based rhinoplasty specialist for best results and for all of your follow up care.
