after surgery I was limping for a week. Than my right calf lost strength, I could stand only toes without helping by leaning on something. within 2 weeks my muscle in my calves and quads have atrophied so dramatically. I was a professional female bodybuilder for 15 years. It has been 12 years post surgery my muscle is waisting away and NO DOCTOR has any answers or even suggestions. PLEASE HELP

First and foremost we need to know what form of gluteal augmentation you had? Did you have implants or fat transfer?What you describe is not normal and you probably should’ve been referred to a neurologist early on.If you had gluteal implants then perhaps consideration to remove the implants would have been a good idea.12 years out from surgery they probably isn’t much that can be done. getting a thorough neurological examination with objective strength measurements and all muscle groups would probably be a value at least for diagnostic purposes.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
