Non-surgical interventions for thighs?

Question

I have very stubborn fat deposits on my thighs from years of prednisone. While I am guessing that eventually it will need lipo, I'm hoping there are some really effective non-invasive options out there. Any suggestions? What treatments are most effective on that kind of fat in the thigh area?

you a proper recommendation without photos or an evaluation but there are a few
non-surgical fat reduction procedures that may be able to address your
concerns. The best procedure for you is dependent on the type of result you are
seeking. If you are looking for an overall fat reduction of the area, you may
want to consider a treatment such as Coolsculpting. Coolsculpting is a
non-invasive fat reduction procedure which breaks down fat cells through
freezing technology and has been proven to reduce the treated area by
approximately 15-20%. I recommend setting up a consultation with a board
certified plastic surgeon with experience in fat reduction.

Non-invasive options, like Coolsculpting, are good for removing stubborn areas of fat, but lack body shaping which areas like the thighs need. For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermiRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. Hi lillybe, thanks for your question. Unfortunately, "really effective non-invasive fat reduction" is sort of a misnomer. Most of the non invasive techniques can deliver up to a modest 20% reduction in a localized fat deposits but sometimes this is even less. They often require multiple treatments and can end up costing much more than liposuction. BUT, the great thing is that they are non-surgical with lower risk profiles across the board. I agree with visiting a board certified plastic surgeon who offers both liposuction and non invasive techniques so you get a honest and unbiased opinion on which technique will be best to meet your surgical goals, match your accepted risk, and fit into your budget! There are a few different none surgical options. From least to most invasive they are:-Coolsculpting: this is a good option, but there needs to be enough fat to fit into an applicator-Kybella: this can be used off label to remove small areas of fat-ThermiRF: this is minimally invasive and provides both fat loss and skin tightening-Liposuction: this produces the most dramatic results in the fewest number of treatments.I recommend seeing a surgeon in your area for more information.Best,~Dr. Sieber
