Im 10 days post lipo on my abdoment & flanks. I noticed that the garments leave creases & lines all over my stomach. I was wondering if i can start using the Foams underneath the garments plus ab boards to help with flattening my stomach area, plus avoiding all those dents, lines & creases? Will it make a difference or help out any 10 days after? Or is it too late? And when can i start massaging?
Answer: Compression Garment Question-Ask Your Doctor & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol regarding the foam pads and compression. I have my patients wear customized compression after their procedure. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Wearing foam after surgery Every physician uses a different protocol. I have my patients use the foam after surgery for up to 6 weeks. Most don't want to wear it that long, but it helps. Move the foam around wherever your swelling is, and over any areas that are trying to form ridges or creases. Move them around a little each day so you don't get a ridge in the same place. I recommend massage as soon as you can do it comfortably. This is not a deep muscle massage, but a "milking" motion, pushing the swelling out of the tissues. A professional massage therapist would consider this lymphatic massage. I read all these other options that other doctors recommend, but truly massage, compression garments and wearing the foam over the areas of ridges or lumps should work just as well. Massage gently as much as you want. Good luck for a great result!
