Rhinoplasty but deviated septum - can I do rhinoplasty without correcting caudal nasal septum? (Photos)

Based on your photos, you are a good result for for septoplasty and rhinoplasty. There is absolutely no reason to not correct the septal deflection. And yes, the surgeon will have to support your tip properly after this is done. But if he/she can't easily discuss this with you, then you should look elsewhere for a surgeon. Also, most rhinoplasty is done under general anesthesia, and if you are healthy, there's no reason not to do that. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.

There is no doubt that you are a good candidate for septorhinoplasty. This should include transposition and fixation of distal septum. Procedure is usually performed in general anesthesia but in some cases it may be done in twilight anesthesia. Good luck.

This is a simple one. If a doctor doesn't mention this type of deviation nor has a plan to correct it as part of a rhinoplasty, then you shouldn't select him. Further, there is no reason to not have general anesthesia. Any surgeon who does this type of surgery 'under sedation' is simply giving your general anesthesia anyway, and without the safety of airway protection.

Thank you for your question. But been in practice for over 30 years, and rhinoplasty surgery is a large portion of my practice. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty. You have obviously evaluated your nose quite aggressively. You do have a hanging columella and a deviation of the caudal septum, therefore, I would definitely want to perform a caudal septal excision. In your case, shortening your nose by small amount would actually be a good idea. I think you should evaluate The gallery's of your prospective surgeons and find the one who you resonate with their art form and let them do their job. Best wishes to you.

Why would you not correct the caudal septum? It is affecting the appearance of the nose and your breathing. You may not need a strut graft. Is your surgeon a facial plastic surgeon? If so, they will be very comfortable addressing the septum. You can reduce the bump and narrow the nose without touching the septum, but again, why?
And finally, anesthesia method is not relevant. A good doctor can do this with any of the methods.

Maneuvers for your surgery would include dorsal hump reduction, tip refinement, nasal tip deprojection, tip elevation, among other maneuvers. You should absolutely have the deviated caudal septum corrected at the same time. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result.
