Is a revision surgery needed? 6 months post op (Photo)

Question

I had gynecomastia surgery 6 months ago. I'm not happy with the result now. On the left breast it feels like I have a gland left, it also looks bigger than the right breast. A month ago I was with my surgeon and told him that I may need a revision but he said that it looks good as it is now and it can get better with time…. now my question is: do you think I need liposuction for my breasts to be flat or do you think I have a gland left? expecting for your help and tips

Thank you for your question.  Typically swelling can last approximately 8-10 months.  I normally wouldn't recommend going in and revising it until closer to a year mark.  I would suggest speaking with your surgeon closer to the year mark and making a decision.  Best of luck to you.

You may need a revision if you're unhappy with the results. However, I would advise waiting a whole year prior to revision. It's hard to judge by the picture, but glandular tissue is difficult to remove with liposuction alone, which mainly targets fat. You may need a excision through a small incision. If your plastic surgeon believes it's improving, I would continue to wait.

If your tissue swelling has completely resolved you can undergo revision of the first surgery. You might have residual breast tissue and fatty tissue as well. It is important that you have stopped exposure to any medications or supplements that generate estrogen, such as anabolic steroids or testosterone. If you have Low-T and take testosterone make sure you also take an estrogen blocker medication.

For sure you need a revision as your feminized breast were not mascullinized. Thank you for your question. It's hard to tell from the photos without an examination. In gynecomastia surgery, most of the time We remove the fat by liposuction and the gland which is hard and does not come out with liposuction is removed with surgery. We also tighten up the skin with  J plasma or Renuvion . Little changes can still take place 6 months after the operation.
