Is it safe to use biotin and antibiotics before surgery?

Question

I stopped with fish oils but I still take my multivitamins and biotin 10 000mcg. I will also start with antibiotics (most likely Metronidazole for bacterial vaginosis) tmro which will last max 7 days. Is this ok when my surgery is in 2weeks?

Yes, it is usually recommended to start antibiotics the night before your procedure and for a week following... you should also be careful that your Multivitamin does not contain Vitamin E otherwise you should stop that as well.  I recommend my patients start a little extra Vitamin C a week before surgery rather than a Multivitamin.  Some patients need antibiotics for a week or more before surgery due to bacteria in their urine upon lab results and that is common.  All the best to you with your procedure!

Truly the best answer is to contact your operating Plastic Surgeon. We all have various protocols the we find work well for us. The important part is when we , as plastic surgeon, develop techniques that give us the best results and we like to stick with them. That being said I  have no idea what your surgeon likes or does' like and I don't know what his / her pre-op protocols are. Remember he / she  will be the responsible surgeon.
