am 5'5" and 110 lbs. I have a slim build broad shoulders and small waist. Currently a AA34 cup. I've breast fed two babies. My PS has recommended a 275 CC Moderate plus silicone gel implant. I want a natural look. My question is, can I go to 300 and still look very natural? I know it's slight difference but would like a small C cup. Would it be better to go for HP or should I stick with moderate plus? I am afraid they may look pancakey..also going under the muscle.
Answer: I'm currently an AA cup. Is 275 CC's ok or can I go bigger? Also moderate or HP? After reviewing your photographs, it appears that you have thin skin and very little breast tissue. An asymmetry between the nipples and breast volume is present, making the right breast larger than the left. This could be corrected during the augmentation. As for the implant, there would be little difference between a 275CC or 300CC implant; both could provide excellent results. For natural looking chest, a high profile implant will look less natural on your body type; a moderate plus profile implant will create a more natural looking breast. The Allergan Natrelle Style 15 implant falls between a Mentor Moderate profile and a Mentor High profile; it is excellent in providing a natural looking result.

Answer: I'm currently an AA cup. Is 275 CC's ok or can I go bigger? The nice thing about trying on implants in the clinic is that you can determine what volume implant gives you a look that you like. In our office the patient will bring in clothing that they would like to be able to fill out after their augmentation. Various volume implants are tried until the desired look is obtained. After the desired look is known, the volume and breast width measurement are used to select an implant. The implant must fit within the breast footprint. As you increase the profile of your implant the shape of the breast will become more and more round and look less natural. You have very little native breast tissue, so most of your augmented breast will be composed of the implant. Your breast will not look 100% natural after your surgery, but going to a high profile implant will exaggerate the augmented look. So the profile depends on what look you would like to obtain. If there are still questions, you should have a second consultation with your surgeon to address your questions so that you two can decide which implant and look is best for you.

Answer: I'm currently an AA cup. Is 275 CC's ok or can I go bigger? Also moderate or HP? You do have very little breast tissue and asymmetrical breasts (smaller on the left). Implant selection is based on your breast base diameter, soft tissue elasticity and chest wall dimensions. Even with submuscular implants, there is a chance that you will not have a completely natural look. A higher profile implant will look less natural on you then a low or moderate profile. I think if you want natural looking breasts, you need to not focus on cup size. I don't know what a "small C cup" is as compared to a "large C cup". A C cup for your height is different than a C cup for 5'8''-6' tall woman. If you trust your surgeon go with his/her suggestion or seek a second opinion from another board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Answer: Implant Selection Thank you for your question. It is very difficult to accurately discuss implant volume without an exam and detailed measurements. In order to make an accurate size recommendation, I would need to assess your chest wall and breast mound measurements and characteristics. I use these measurements to help me during your sizing process to guide you to a safe result and one that meets your end desires.Your plastic surgeon will perform several measurements of your chest wall and breast anatomy and determine a range of implants that both fit your chest wall and reach your desired goals. The next step is to try on this range of implants in the office with your doctor. The key to this success is showing your surgeon the body proportion you desire with a bra sizer and allowing your surgeon to guide you to the right implant. It will be much easier to communicate in implant cc's than cup size when determining the appropriate implant for you during the sizing process. In addition, review of photos and use of rice bags can help the patient and surgeon achieve a safe and happy result. Close intereaction and involvement from your surgeon during this process can help alleviate the anxiety and fears of choosing the right size. I wish you a safe recovery and fantastic result.Dr. Gill
