I did not have a vertical incision. This is just extra skin that is creased. Everyone else I see is smooth in this area. Will I need another procedure? Should this be a free revision? Was I not pulled tight enough? I'm 8 days PO. TT/MR No Lipo
Answer: Why do I have this crease under my belly button? Thank you for your question and I am sorry that your current results are not what you anticipated but you are still early in your recovery and your appearance is likely the result of a combination of asymmetric swelling to the lower abdomen and tension from the removal of excess skin. Hang in there and allow your results time to heal and mature further, you should see steady improvement in the crease.

Answer: Vertical crease At only one week out from surgery, it is way too soon to give advice on the result. At this stage, you are still early in the healing process. The final result for a tummy tuck never really judged until several months from the procedure. Typically, I will wait 3-4 months before I assess the results. Of course, it can be difficult to be patient while awaiting a result for such a long time, especially when you are excited. But, keep in mind that living human tissues are different than sculpting with plastic or sewing with cloth. Those substances are fixed and don't change much with time. Human tissues, on the other hand, stretch, spread, settle, and change as they go through the different stages of healing. This process takes time and as it proceeds, your result will change until the healing is complete. This is why plastic surgeons will always advise patience for the first few months after these procedures. In the meantime, keep in close contact with your plastic surgeon and he/she can assure you that things are proceeding in the right direction.I hope this info helps!Best of Luck, Dr. SubbioPhiladelphia/Newtown Square

Answer: You need more time to recover before you see final results. Thank you for your question and the photo. Feeling anxious to see the final results after plastic surgery is common and completely understandable. However, at only 8 days post-op, you’re still experiencing a significant amount of swelling. You’ll see considerable improvement in the coming weeks. As difficult as it may be to be patient, you really shouldn’t explore revision options until at least a few months after surgery. As swelling subsides and the incisions heal, you’ll likely see the crease that concerns you go away. If you’re still not satisfied with your results 3 to 4 months after surgery, then it may be time to visit your plastic surgeon and discuss the possibility of a revision.

Answer: Why do I have this crease under my belly button? It's way too early to judge the results of the procedure. The final results will evolve over a few months. Typically the crease you a mentioning is caused by a compression garments that is causing the fold. You may want to have your surgeon check the garment or binder and adjust the way you are wearing it or switch to something else that will work better.

Answer: Why do I have this crease under my belly button? You need to post better exposed photos to see the complete abdomen with the scar!. I guess the surgeon try to bunch centrally the excess skin of the upper incision to a shorter lower incision thus bunching occurred!
