Is this swelling in concha bowl 6 days post-op normal? (Photos)

Question

I had an Otoplasty 6 days ago and while the surrounding areas of my ears are healing really well, I am slightly concerned about the swelling in the concha bowl area of my ear. I am seeing my doctor tomorrow so I will ask him then but I would also like other opinions as well. I know it's early and much of my swelling will be taken care of in the next few weeks but I haven't seen many people with this much swelling in the concha bowl post op. Thank you.

It’s good to know that you’ll be seeing your surgeon tomorrow because this needs to be assessed. If it is excess fluid or an infection, your surgeon will be able to let you know what can be done.

The photos suggest you have a fluid collection. Definitely have your surgeon take a look. Is the area soft and spongy?

You should definitely see your surgeon asap. Did you have a bolster in place that was already removed? Is the site tender? Any drainage?
