Because in having mommy makeover with BBL, do you think it would be worth having the oxygen therapy? If so, It's very expensive and I can't afford for 8hs so how many hours at least should I do the oxigen to be worth it? Thank you so much!
Answer: Mommy Makeover - Hyperbaric Treatment Thank you for your question. I do not routinely recommend hyperbaric oxygen treatments if you are healthy and do not have problems with wound healing. This is an added expense with not a lot of benefit. Please Hope this helps and good luck with your surgery.

Answer: Great question Hyperbaric therapy for many types of conditions is controversial. There's no doubt that oxygenation to tissues is increased but whether or not this makes any difference clinically is in question. I think that most of us feel that it is really only used for chronic wounds as an adjunct to reconstructive surgery. Best of luck.

Answer: Is hyperbaric chamber really worth it? Thank you for your excellent question and congratulations on your upcoming surgery! Hyperbaric oxygen therapy after a mommy makeover and BBL is not a regular adjunct and I do not think the risk:reward ratio warrants this type of treatment. I am assuming your surgeon feels that it may help improve fat graft take? Speak to your doctor and voice your concerns, they should be able to provide you with the information to make the best decision. Best wishes!

Answer: Hyperbaric therapy There is good science to suggest that hyperbaric therapy increases the oxygen content of the blood. HOWEVER, there is no good evidence that suggests that it makes a difference for a mommy makeover. As you mentioned, insurance does not cover it and the out of pocket expense is not worth the marginal benefit. The bottom line is that if you do not have any significant medical problems such as diabetes and you are not a smoker, then the chance you will have problems with healing properly are quite low to begin with, and hyperbaric therapy will offer very little benefit.Best wishes,Dr. Ravi Somayazula

Answer: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be very expensive even when insurance is paying part of the bill. There is no clinical indication for hyperbaric oxygen as part of a routine mommy makeover, so unless you have some pre-existing disease that requires it, I doubt that it is of much value.Good luck with your procedures!
