Thank you for your question. HRT increases your risk for developing thromboembolism. I would suggest stopping HRT at least two weeks prior to surgery. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon for an in-person examination to discuss the specific details of the procedures. Ask to see before and after photos to get an idea of what can be achieved. Hope this helps!
In women over the age of 40 certainly consideration would be given to stopping hormone replacement in anticipation of mommy makeover surgery. Statistically these drugs increase the risk of deep pain thrombosis. Management is individual to the patient and at the discretion of the surgeon and anesthesiologist.
HRT is associated with increased risk of thromboembolism. This risk is increased with longer surgeries like combined procedures and specifically with abdominoplasty. Some surgeons recommend stopping for 2 weeks before and after the procedure. Talk with your surgeon to find out his recommendations.
Thank you for your excellent question. In most cases HRT does not need to be stopped in anticipation of surgery and the same precautions to avoid blood clot formation should be followed - limiting operative time, leg compression devices, possible anticoagulation, early ambulation, etc. Talk to your surgeon, they can better provide you with reassurance or recommendations.
The primary concern is the somewhat increased risk of blood clots. Talk to your surgeon about whether or not you are required to stop them temporarily - some surgeons do, some surgeons don't. I don't, I use prophylaxis against clots and I have not seen a clot in someone on HRT in 26 years.

Thank you for your question. While topical nitropaste is useful for increasing bloodflow to the skin by dilating the vessels, it certainly is not used routinely. It is only used when the surgeon is concerned for ischemia of the tissues. It has the potential adverse effect of headache and...
Thank you for your question and pictures. That is pretty much what I do. The hematoma takes several weeks to liquidfy. As it does, it can be absorbed by the body or your doctor can drain it with a needle. initially, it is solid or too thick to go through the needle, that why she suggested r...
Thank you for your question. That is impossible to answer because every surgery is different. Usually with breast implants, my patients use very little pain meds, especially when they go over the muscle. Under the muscle tends to hurt more, especially when you use big implants.
